Askrigg village across blooming yellow wildflower meadows

Askrigg village meadows

The picturesque village of Askrigg in Upper Wensleydale is possibly best known as the location of Darrowby in the 1970’s BBC dramatisation of All Creatures Great And Small. Nothing else of note has ever happened in this sleepy little village.

This view of the village was taken from the meadows outside the village when they were in flower.
