Beech sapling and the River Gelt

Beech sapling and the River Gelt background

A beech sapling growing out of the riverbank of the River Gelt in Gelt Wood.

This part of the river’s gorge is covered by a dense leaf canopy making it quite dark underneath. Consequently photography requires long exposures but fortunately there was no wind on this visit.
