Crags of Maiden Moor

heather covered crags of on the western flanks of Maiden Moor above Newlands Beck Valley

Crags of Maiden Moor background

A view of the crags on the western flank of Maiden Moor from Causey Pike.

The eastern side of Maiden Moor facing Derwent Water is a fairly dull grassy slope. However on the other sideof the ridge it is quite the opposite: a precipitous, craggy fellside cut into by many gills.
