Snowy Coledale Fells over Whinlatter from Lords Seat

Snowy Grisedale Pike from Lords Seat

The Coledale Fells including Grisedale Pike seen from the summit of Lord’s Seat.

Starting from the relative shelter of the Whinlatter Pass, the climb up along sheltered, bicycle-free forest tracks lead to the exposed summit plateau of Lord’s Seat which was anything but sheltered!

This was the view south from Lord’s Seat, looking over Whinlatter Forest towards Grisedale Pike and Hopegill Head. As the photo suggests, it was a bitterly cold and moody day so I didn’t hang around long at the summit.
