serene sunset over Ingleborough from Winskill

Ingleborough sunset from Upper Winskill

The distinctive flat-topped profile of Ingleborough seen at sunset seen from the hamlet of Upper Winskill. This photo was taken while on a circular walk from Stainforth via Winskill Stones.

Ingleborough was once believed to be the highest point in England, quite understandable given that it can be seen for miles around. However it is now known that it isn’t even the highest peak in Yorkshire, let alone the whole country.
