About Ullswater Lake
After Windermere, Ullswater is the second largest lake in the Lake District.
While its southern end is bounded by the steep slopes of Helvellyn to the west and Place Fell to the east, to the north the land flattens out and at Pooley Bridge the lake is drained by the River Eamont.
