Little Langdale and Langdale Pikes above autumnal mist on Holme Fell

Holme Fell dawn mist

A photo from a climb up to Holme Fell summit for dawn.

Driving to Yew Tree Tarn in the dark promised little. However as I got close to Yewdale it was shrouded in mist and things started looking promising. Having parked at the tarn I made my way up the fell in the dark to watch dawn.

And this was the view looking over a misty Little Langdale towards the Langdale Pikes. This area of lakeland is scarred with many old slate mines but the mist did a good job of hiding them.
