Moughton Scars view of Pen-y-ghent during spring sunset

Moughton Scars

Moughton Scars is an area of limestone pavement at the head of Crummack Dale which although less well known than Malham Cove is larger in area.

This view of the scar was taken from Beggar’s Stile cairn at the north-west corner of the pavement and looks along the line of the escarpment towards a silhouetted Pen-y-ghent on the horizon.
