Lake Windermere from Heron Pike ridge

Windermere from Heron Pike

Heron Pike is the final fell on the western limb of the Fairfield Horseshoe, one of the Lake’s classic walks. Looking south from the summit this is the view looking towards Windermere.

The walk is a circuit of the ridge above the Rydal Beck Valley which can be seen to the left. The Rydal Beck meanders towards its confluence with the River Rothay before flowing into Lake Windermere.
