confluence of river esk and lingcove beck in upper eskdale lit by winter sun seen from hard knott

Hard Knott view of Upper Eskdale

Upper Eskdale is just about as wild as the Lake District gets. And its stunning too.

This is the view of the valley from Hard Knott. The infant River Esk can be seen passing under Green Crag after which it drops down to meet Lingcove Beck. The larger river then flows past Heron Crag and on towards the settlement at Brotherilkeld.
