Barrow Gill view of Skiddaw
A snowy day out in the Coledale Fells started with a climb out of Braithwaite along the path above Barrow Gill, contouring the side of Stile End. This was the view looking back over the distant Derwent Valley towards the Skiddaw massif.
At this point the going was relatively easy as the snow covering wasn’t deep and there were plenty of footprints to follow. Further up on the main Coledale Horseshoe path the same could not be said!
