As Dodd is in the middle of Thornthwaite Forest the climb to the summit gives no clue as to the view because apart from loads of coniferous trees there is nothing to be seen on the way up. It is worth persevering though as Dodd’s summit crag rises out of the trees to give possibly the finest view of Bassenthwaite Lake.
