A beech sapling growing out of the riverbank of the River Gelt in Gelt Wood.
This part of the river’s gorge is covered by a dense canopy making it quite dark underneath. Consequently taking photographs necessitated a long exposure but, fortunately for me, there was no wind on this visit.
