vale of york fields summer sunset from bishop wilton wold

Bishop Wilton Wold view of the Vale of York

Bishop Wilton Wold overlooks the village of the same name and marks the western edge of the Wolds. The Vale of York lies to the west – a patchwork of farm fields extending as far as the eye can see.

The photo shows the view looking south-west towards Eggborough and Ferrybridge power stations. Look closely and they can be seen on the horizon. Meanwhile a couple of hot air balloons can be seen coming in to land.
