Looking north from the summit of Black Crag over the ladder stile towards the fells surrounding Grasmere.
A short climb up from the Yewdale road in the dark got me to the summit of Black Fell in time for dawn. Sadly clear skies left no interest in the sky but I did have long distance views all around. This view north shows Helm Crag, the southern end of the Helvellyn Ridge and Fairfield.
