black scar house shepherds hut on remote birkdale common moor under ominous dark grey skies

Black Scar House on Birkdale Common

The ruin of Black Scar House on Birkdale Common, very close to the Yorkshire-Cumbria border..

The building was probably used by shepherds as a place to stay while tending their flock but has since fallen into disrepair. I entered it during this storm but holes in the roof meant it offered limited shelter.
