Fairfield Horseshoe panorama
The Fairfield Horseshoe is one of the most well-known and popular horseshoe walks in the Lakes. Starting and finishing in Ambleside the 10 mile walk follows the ridge surrounding the Rydal Beck valley.
This view of the head of the horseshoe was taken from the summit of Heron Pike on the western rim of the valley. The other peaks on the ridge that are in view are Great Rigg, Fairfield and Hart Crag.
