view over autumnal fields of St. Johns in the Vale towards Castle Rock

Fields of St John’s in the Vale

A view over the fields of St John’s in the Vale, taken from the track under the eastern flanks of High Rigg.

St. John’s Beck flows from Thirlmere Reservoir, past the rock outcrop of Castle Rock (just visible in the distance) and meanders through the vale before it meets the River Greta near Threlkeld Bridge.
