double rainbow over Great Close plantation near Malham Tarn

Great Close rainbow

Great Close is a natural bowl measuring a mile across near Malham Tarn. In the 1700s the area was used for regular cattle sales and was crowded with 20,000 cattle, hard to imagine nowadays.

On the evening I was there it was very quiet but also very wet. The low angle of the setting sun and intense rain did produce a double rainbow though.
