With the promise of a clear dawn I headed up into the Great Langdale fells to get some photographs from above the valley. As the sun rose it became clear that cloud was going to prevent any strong light so, after a bit of thought, I decided getting breakfast was more important.
While making my way back down though I saw mist forming in the valley below. This quickly developed into one of the best cloud inversions I’ve seen in the Lakes. With a spot of scrambling I was able to get to a good vantage point to take this photograph of treetops poking through the mist in the Langdale valley.
