millstone grit long crags on great whernside view towards buckden pike during clear sunset

Great Whernside sunset

Having got to the summit of Great Whernside in very good time, I had an opportunity to explore Long Crags: the line of millstone grit boulders that line the summit ridge. This was the best view I found from the trig point at the summit: looking along the line of the crags towards a distant Buckden Pike.

Having finished my photography for the evening I had the enjoyable challenge of traversing the bog on the descent back to Kettlewell. That was fun!
