About The Far Eastern Fells

I have defined this area of the Lake District as being those to the east of the fells lining Ullswater and east of Windermere.

Being on the fringe of the National Park, these fells and their valleys are less touristy than the central valleys and are more like working landscapes.

There are some little gems to be found here though. Personal favourites are the Troutbeck valley and the walk from Swindale up to the bothy at the head of Mosedale. No big mountains and more like the Pennines than the central fells, these hills and dales are well worth a visit.
