About Patterdale and Hartsop

This is the area at the head of the valley containing Ullswater.

The valley is home to some popular tourist villages as well as having its own tarn – Brothers Water. The valley is lined to the east by the outlying fells of High Street and to the west by Helvellyn and Fairfield. And Kirkstone Pass acts as a route out of the valley to the south.
