About The Newlands Valley
The Newlands Valley is very much quieter than its neighbouring valleys but does play host to one of the Lake District's classic hikes – the Newlands Horseshoe. Reaching its highest point at the aptly named Dale Head, there are a few variations of the walk, depending on whether the fells of Robinson, Hindscarth or Catbells are included.
Whichever route is taken, the view of the valley from Dale Head is one of the finest in the district.
