About the Wasdale Valley
Wasdale, in the west Lake District, plays host to Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain, and as such is very busy with people doing the National Three Peaks.
To head there and only climb Scafell would be a massive mistake though as the ‘motorway’ from Wasdale up to the summit is far from the best route up. Plus Wasdale is ringed by other superb fells, not least Great Gable and Pillar.
