Misty islands of Derwent Water

A panoramic photo taken from Ashness Jetty on Derwent Water on a misty morning in the Lake District.

As the jetty was filled to capacity with photographers and their tripods, the classic photo looking along the jetty was a non-starter on this trip. Instead I swung round to look across the lake towards Skiddaw and Keswick. This was the resultant panoramic photo I ended up with.

Visible through the mist on a very calm Derwent Water are St. Herbert’s Island, Rampsholme Island, Derwent Isle and Lord’s Island. Beyond Skiddaw dominates the skyline.
