About The North York Moors National Park

The North York Moors National Park, found in the north-eastern part of Yorkshire, is one of the largest expanses of heather upland in the country.

The National Park covers an area of 554 square miles, stretching all the way from the very impressive Hambleton Escarpment in the west to the Yorkshire coast in the east. The vast upland moors are separated by steep sided wooded valleys and sparsely populated with small villages and farms.

Wild in winter, the North York Moors are transformed in summer as the heather comes into flower - a wonderful sight to behold.
