Scafell Pike in the far distance seen from Red Pike’s summit framed by High Stile on the left and Pillar to the right.
Red Pike was my last Wainwright of the day and I arrived on schedule, just in time to catch the last of the sun before it sank behind some clouds on the horizon. While it lasted there was some great light looking over the fells surrounding the head of Ennerdale.
This was the highlight of the day, followed by the lowlight: the horrible path down The Saddle to Bleaberry Tarn. I really don’t like that path but I’m guessing its better going down it than up it!
