River Irt and Wast Water
A view of source of the River Irt where it drains Wast Water seen from the slopes of Whin Rigg.
The short climb up to Whin Rigg is rewarded with a great high-level walk along the top of The Screes, however it is steep. During the first of a number of break I spotted this view looking up towards the head of Wasdale surrounded by Yewbarrow, Kirk Fell and Great Gable. And the well-photographed boathouse can be seen overlooking the start of the River Irt.
