Broad Crag and Scafell Pike turn red at sunset

Broad Crag and Scafell Pike sunset

The view from near the summit of Great End looking south-west towards the summit of Scafell. The two main peaks in view are Broad Crag to the left and Scafell Pike to the right. The dais on Scafell Pike can just be made out.

Having set up my camera on my tripod, I had quite a long wait for this shot as the light wasn’t quite right. Just before the sun disappeared the fells were lit by the red of the setting sun and I took this. Actually, this panoramic image is composed of six individual photos stitched together.

The read more about the background behind this shot please read my blog entry about a wild camp on Great End.
