Sosgill Bridge over St. Johns Beck
The small packhorse bridge of Sosgill Bridge isn’t actually that old despite its appearance, dating from the early 19th Century. It is a great viewpoint for Blencathra though.
On this visit, I was in the St. Johns in the Vale valley at dawn when Blencathra was basking in the first light of the day and a frost-covered Sosgill Bridge was still hidden in shade.
