strandshag bay view of red tinged cloudy dawn over calm derwent water and catbells

Strandshag Bay dawn

A cold, still dawn from Strandshag Bay on Derwent Water.

I had turned up pre-dawn at Crow Park but the lake shore there was lined with photographers as is often the case. Walking round the lake I found Friar Crag was also occupied.

Eventually I ended up at Strandshag Bay where I finally had somewhere to myself with a clear view of the lake. And just in time to catch some of the clouds turn red as the sun rose.
