Thirlmere reflections of summer verdant deciduous and coniferous woodland

Thirlmere reflections

Reflections of the deciduous and coniferous plantations in Thirlmere Reservoir.

The Wythburn Valley is one of the quieter dales in the Lake District, especially in comparison to the neighbouring valleys of Patterdale and Borrowdale. When the reservoir was created the villages of Armboth and Wythburn were evacuated and deliberately flooded which goes to some way to explaining why.
