Thornthwaite Beacon and Ill Bell
Located at the southern end of High Street’s summit ridge, Thornthwaite Beacon is an impressive sight. Fourteen feet tall, it towers above its surroundings.
This was the view from Thornthwaite Beacon, looking south towards Froswick and Ill Bell on the ridge separating the Troutbeck and Kentmere vallays. Windermere is also visible in the distance.
