Watlowes dry valley
The dry valley of Watlowes runs for about half a mile down ending at Malham Cove.
The valley was once the route of Malham Beck, the main outlet of Malham Tarn. With erosion of the surface rock, the underlying limestone was exposed and the beck was diverted underground at Water Sinks. Downstream the valley still remains minus its river.
