West Bolton Moor is part of the expansive area of high moorland between Wensleydale and Swaledale.
In summer the moor is a riot of green and purple heather populated by numerous grouse. However in the depths of winter it is very different – I was very alone with no footprints to follow, just plenty of hollows to fall into!
