Wet Sleddale Reservoir dam

A wall of water flowing over Wet Sleddale Reservoir’s dam after a period of very heavy rain.

Wet Sleddale Reservoir located near Shap in the Far Eastern Fells is just inside the eastern boundary of the National Park. As with nearby Haweswater Reservoir, the water stored here is used to supply Manchester with water. Any surplus water flows over the dam and into the River Lowther.
