Winskill Stones limestone pavement
Its only a short walk to Winskill from Stainforth and it well worth doing. Winskill Stones is a small area of limestone pavement with great views across Ribblesdale towards Ingleborough.
The limestone pavement is not as extensive as it once was because a lot of rocks have been removed from the site over the years for use in garden rockeries. Fortunately the conservation charity Plantlife International bought the land so the stones are now protected.
