About Ribblesdale

The infant River Ribble has its source high up in the western Yorkshire Dales surrounded the Yorkshire Three Peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent. It is therefore hardly surprising that Ribblesdale has some of the county's best mountain scenery.

Further downstream the River Ribble swings south and west into Lancashire in what can only be seen as a disappointing outcome after such a promising start (Written by a Yorkshireman).
