Gategill Fell ridge dawn panorama above cloud inversion in Glenderaterra valley and St. john's in the Vale

Gategill Fell dawn panorama

A panoramic view from Blancathra of Gategill Fell and a misty River Greta valley below.

From left to right the ridges and valleys in the background are the northern end of the Dodds above a misty St. Johns in the Vale. Beyond that the twin peaks of Low and High Rigg appear above the Thirlmere Valley. And lastly the High Seat ridge can be made out above a distant Borrowdale.

This photograph is the result of stitching eight single photographs together and sadly is way too large to be displayed on here in detail! If it were possible the couple stood on the top of Gategill Fell would be clearly visible and help to add a sense of scale to the scene. On the plus side, huge prints can be made from this photograph in which they can be seen.

The full tale of this night camping on Blancathra is recounted in my blog.
