Catbells and Skiddaw from rocky Maiden Moor summit catching first golden dawn light with Derwent Water hidden by mist below

Maiden Moor sunrise

After an early morning climb in winter to the top of Maiden Moor, my efforts were rewarded with this view.

I was intending to climb Catbells but could see a small crowd of people already there so I changed my plans. I’m quite glad I did too as I had this view looking over Derwent Water towards Skiddaw and Blencathra all to myself.
