snowy High Street ridge reflected in Hayeswater

High Street reflected in Hayeswater

Nestled under the eastern flanks of the High Street ridge, Hayeswater has been used as an emergency source of water for Penrith since the start of the twentieth century. However, as it has not been required since 2005, in 2015 United Utilities made a decision to remove the dam and return it to its natural state as a mountain tarn.
