bracken lined river mite in miterdale flowing towards distant muncaster fell under leaden dark skies

Miterdale and Muncaster Fell

The River Mite flows along Miterdale from the southern flanks of Illgill Head down to the coast at Ravenglass. Its never a wide river, especially near its source in the upper reaches of the dale.

This photo was taken on an overcast evening walk along the little river towards Burnmoor Tarn. The view back down the valley shows the winding River Mite with distinctive Muncaster Fell in the distance.
